BC gov’t gives Little Prairie Elementary $36,000 for playground equipment

The Little Prairie Elementary School Parent Advisory Council in Chetwynd is one of 60 not-for-profits receiving a grant through the BC government’s Community Grants program.

In a release, the government says they’re doling out $36,000 to the council to replace playground equipment used by children and local fitness enthusiasts.

The South Peace Child Development Society in Dawson Creek is set to receive $16,200 to upgrade their heating system under the same program. The government is also doling out $175,000 to the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club in Prince George to install a snowmaking system.

In all, the government has committed $5 million under the Community Grants program.
