A surprising resignation on the Hudson’s Hope council has the district prepping for an emergency by-election.
Nicole Gilliss’s decision to step down for personal reasons in November of last year means the council will need to find a replacement now, rather than wait until the scheduled fall municipal elections.
In light of the impromptu election, council is doing everything they can to make sure the public gets to know their candidates.
A forum will be held tonight at the community hall at 7:00 which will see all candidates present to present themselves to residents.
The four candidates include: Mattias Donald Gibbs, Reg Knox, Patricia Markin, and John-Paul McCarthy.
The by-election is slotted to take place on January 20th, but advanced polling will be made available tomorrow.
