CounterAttack Celebrates 40th Anniversary although Drunk Driving is Still an Issue

This weekend marks the 40th anniversary of the Counterattack program, a program to help counter drunk driving. 40 years later drinking and driving is still a big issue especially in northern BC. Currently Fort St. John the fourth city in Canada with the highest rate of drunk driving. Only Whistler, BC; Yorkton, Saskatchewan and North Battleford, Saskatchewan ranked higher than Fort St. John. On average there are 20 fatalities a year in relation to drunk driving in north central BC every year. Starting this weekend Police all across BC will be heavily enforcing road checks throughout the month of December.
