A group of vehicle thieves had Dawson Creek RCMP engaged in a citywide game of cat and mouse over the weekend.

After receiving a call notifying them that a truck had been stolen from a Kilkerran residence overnight, police discovered an erratic driver in Dawson Creek on Saturday matching the stolen vehicle’s description.

The vehicle in question was travelling east on the Alaska Highway, nearly causing multiple accidents as it swayed over the centerline.

Police decided that pursuing the vehicle would only cause a more dangerous situation and eventually lost visual.

Later in the day, police received a call of a multiple vehicle hit and run involving a truck matching the stolen truck’s description.

Police found the truck and tracked the suspects to a motel where the suspects were hiding out.

One female and two males were arrested in relation to the crimes.
