Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the Grand Prarie area.

Extreme wind chills from minus 40 to minus 45 are happening across the region.

Young children, elderly people, those with chronic illness, without proper shelter, and working or exercising outdoors are at a greater risk from the extreme cold.

Environment Canada also stresses that if it’s too cold outside for humans, it is also too cold for pets as well.
