A Grande Prairie man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting this weekend. Police were called to the scene just after midnight on Saturday after receiving a report of shots being fired near the intersection of 100th Street and 84th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a crash between a grader and a vehicle had taken place. After the crash, the driver of the vehicle got out and fired shots at the grader, then fled on foot.  The driver of the grader was not shot, but did sustain minor injuries from the collision. Officers were initially unsuccessful at tracking down the suspect, but were able to apprehend him at a Grande Prairie residence around 3:30 that afternoon. Facing charges is 22 year old Dakota Jackson Grey, who also had an outstanding arrest warrant in Edmonton. Grey has been charged with 10 offenses, including attempted murder, 2 counts of possessing a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and discharging a firearm with intent. Grey is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Wednesday.
