Kilogram of Cocaine Found in Grande Prairie Traffic Stop

A Grande Prairie man has been arrested after he was allegedly found with over one kilogram of cocaine.

34 year-old Drew Michael Benson was pulled over early Sunday morning after committing a provincial infraction.

A search of the vehicle was executed following his arrest, which uncovered 1,040 grams of cocaine.

Benson has since been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, and obstruction.

He will appear in court on Thursday.
