Grande Prairie RCMP have one man in custody following a firearm disturbance this weekend.
40 year-old Cory Stephens of Hythe, is now facing over 50 charges after he brandished his weapon on the highway, fled police, and allegedly pointed his weapon at officers.
Police reportedly attempted to pull the man over on Friday when he fled, with poor conditions forcing them not to pursue.
Later he was discovered at an oilfield lease where he was arrested.
Among the 51 charges Stephens is facing are: possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to probation order, failure to comply with probation order, and possession of stolen property.
Stephens will appear in court on February 14th.
