A suspected drunk driving incident yesterday saw Fort St John RCMP get assistance from an onlooker.

The accident occurred on Alaska Road in front of the Mr Mike’s Steakhouse just after midnight, when a pickup truck rear-ended a D&G Traffic Control vehicle.

The D&G vehicle was on site while crews directed traffic around a snow bank that was being cleared when the pickup crashed in to the vehicle.

Before RCMP could arrive on the scene, a passing grader truck operator stopped to insure everyone was alright and made a citizen’s arrest on the driver of the truck.

The man was detained upon police arrival, and alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash. No charges have been laid as of yet.
