The BC government has announced funding to benefit training in several northern BC First Nations.

In a release, the government says they’re investing $369,000 to support professional cook training for up to 10 members of Fort Nelson First Nation, as well as eight members of Saulteau and West Moberly First Nations. The program provides practical skills related to meal planning, knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food storage, and credit toward the Professional Cook 1 apprenticeship program. Northern Lights College will deliver the training for the candidates.

The government also announced funding for education programs benefiting northeastern BC First Nations, including $175,000 for 12 members of Blueberry River First Nations to provide prerequisites for entry into career, technical or academic programs.
