A Williams Lake man is facing multiple charges following an investigation by Prince George RCMP.

Just after 6 am Monday, police responded to an assault on the 1900 block of Strathcona Avenue. A man allegedly assaulted a woman and slashed her tires before fleeing on foot. While police were responding to the incident, they received a report of a possible stabbing on the 2300 block of Spruce Street. At that scene, officers found a 31-year-old man who appeared to be suffering from multiple stab wounds, and a woman with minor injuries. The man was rushed to hospital, while the woman required no medical attention.

On Tuesday, police arrested 25-year-old Trevor Lyndon Alexis in connection with the assaults. He faces charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault, and mischief under $5000. Police say they believe Alexis knows the woman he assaulted.

The investigation is ongoing.

Alexis is scheduled to appear in court on August 17th.
