Peace FM is a community radio station! We encourage persons to volunteer and become (amateur) radio stars. We are pleased to offer specialty shows delivered by volunteers who have special interests.

Do you have a special interest? Do you want to be a radio star? We welcome new ideas, new forms of entertainment and will welcome persons who wish to do a show in a language other than English. All volunteers are invited to participate and to be respectful of others at all times. Our volunteer contingent makes us different from commercial radio since we encourage creativity and the desire to be heard on air!

The Lost Hippie

The Lost Hippie was one of the first volunteers on Peace FM and is famous for the Lost Hippie show (formerly known as “Definitely Not the Opry”). He has been working with Peace FM  since its inception 1996. He started an all day on air campaign encouraging residents to donate to the food hamper. He also started to produce and continues to produce original Remembrance Day Radio Services saluting Canadian veterans. Even though he is living and working on Vancouver Island, The Lost Hippie is loyal to Peace FM and delivers a weekly Show. You can hear music from all genres including classical, opera, jazz, blues, folk, non-traditional rock and Reggae on the Lost Hippie Show. He regularly visits music festivals for Peace FM and does interviews with local musicians like folk singer Odetta, and Reggae Legend Jimmy Cliff.
Locally Yours

Moneca has lived in the Peace area since 1971 and is an avid supporter of all music live and local. This makes her a perfect host for “Locally Yours”, a show that features musicians from around the Peace. She is also one third of the popular Hugh Spinney Trio, and often performs at music festivals throughout the summer.

Viewpoints provides an overview of what’s happening across Canada. It presents stories that resonate with large audiences as well as Indigenous communities. The show focuses on civic journalism, community related stories as well as on arts, culture, health and environmental issues.

The cross-commodity podcast series touches on our primary agricultural commodity players including grains, oilseeds, forage seed, forage, livestock and horticulture.  Margins in agricultural businesses are often small.  Adopting new farming practices can bring a costly learning curve.  Having access to knowledge from researchers, experts and peers who have already walked the path of trying a new practice or technology, affords more producers the opportunity to adopt production practices they may not otherwise have implemented.

The show is hosted by Kurt Peats who has lived his life all throughout BC. Kurt is a retired RCMP member and served in Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge. Theresa Gladue hosts The Bannock Hour every Sunday night! She plays music from every genre including Pow Wow, the Blues, Rock and Roll and Country and Western. Theresa highlights tunes performed by local Métis and First Nations artists including those performed by her relatives. Have a laugh, shed a tear and don’t fear, Theresa has a great show for you every Sunday! Theresa has been on air for four years and everyone throughout the world enjoys her humour and her stories, which are told in both English and Cree!
Metaphysical Hour

MC hosts the Metaphysical Hour. The Metaphysical Hour is one of meditation and inspirational quotes. MC talks about the value of meditation, explains the different techniques for meditation and how to recharge energy and reduce personal stress.
